Meet The Team

Joel Griffin

Co-Founder & Performance Specialist
Born in Emporia, Kansas, and raised between the plains of a working cattle ranch and the mountains of Colorado, Joel brings a lifetime of grit, discipline, and drive to the wellness space. He began his career in health early, working in a physical therapy clinic at just 14—a foundation that shaped his lifelong passion for performance, recovery, and helping others thrive in their bodies.

Joel studied at Colorado State University and Metropolitan State College, and since 2010, he’s called Wheat Ridge home—strategically located near Armbrust Pro Gym, where he continues to train and coach.

With over two decades of experience in fitness and recovery, Joel’s approach blends science, sport, and sustainability. He’s a competitive bodybuilder, lifelong athlete, and practitioner of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, with a diverse background that includes football, snowboarding, motocross, BMX, and more. His work isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about function, longevity, and building strength that lasts.

At The Mind Body Lounge, Joel specializes in performance optimization, recovery strategies, and one-on-one support for clients of all levels. Whether you're training for your next competition or trying to get out of pain, Joel brings deep knowledge, lived experience, and a genuine care for your goals.

Sarah Kornhauser

Co-Founder & Wellness Practitioner

A true Southern farm girl at heart, Sarah grew up surrounded by both inspiring and questionable examples of what it meant to be “well.” Always an athlete, she developed a passion for movement early—but her calling to care for others took her into the medical field by age 18. After graduating early from high school and technical school, Sarah spent nearly 12 years in healthcare before making a bold shift: she wanted to help people before they got sick.

That shift led her to Colorado, where she began coaching CrossFit for law enforcement officers and later found her own competitive fire again in bodybuilding. In just a few short years, she rose through the ranks to become Ms. Colorado and eventually earned her IFBB Pro card. But her proudest achievements have always been the transformations she’s helped others achieve—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Now 44, Sarah focuses on longevity, recovery, and staying strong and youthful through every stage of life. Married to her childhood best friend—a first responder—she became acutely aware of the health crisis facing frontline workers, especially after retirement. This sparked her creation of the Fit Enough to Retire philosophy: a mission rooted in optimizing wellness for the long game.

At The Mind Body Lounge, Sarah combines her deep medical background, fitness expertise, and holistic approach to guide clients toward sustainable, powerful health. Whether you're walking in for recovery, muscle repair, or stress relief, she meets you exactly where you are—with warmth, wisdom, and a plan.
